Seahawks fans faced a difficult decision Sunday, going to church service or watching the game.

Many local churches found compromise, allowing parishioners to show faith in their religion and their favorite team.

Choosing sides is never easy, worshipping or watching football.

?It?s a different type of religion right?? said Chris McInerney, a football fan.

McInerney was among more than a thousand at Bothell?s Eastlake Community Church Sunday morning, where the NFL Divisional Playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons was shown on big screens.

?It was important for me to watch the game,? said Ryan Meeks, Founding Pastor.

Eastlake held services earlier than its normal 10am start time so people could watch the game.
The atmosphere resembled a football stadium with food, team apparel, even beer.

?We?re fans of God and fans of football,? said McInerney.

The North Sound Church in Downtown Edmonds had a similar strategy. Instead of church robes, the congregation suited up in Seahawks gear.

?We?re still doing church, it?s just football church,? said Cole Basney, who attended the service.

?They didn?t bring their A-game,? said McInerney.

Although the Seahawks lost the game, churchgoers say they?re glad they came.

?The people who showed up today are the people that win,? said Benjamin Langhans, who attended the service.

?Its about having a good time and enjoying the community,? said McInerney.

It's a point faithful fans all shared.
